Blue Grass Country

We are enjoying our visit with Matt and Vikki and their family in Lexington, KY. It took us about 10 hours to get here on Thursday evening! We were so tired! It is so hot and humid. Yesterday we spent the afternoon at the pool soaking up some rays. Today has been mostly inside. Vikki, Kayleigh, Mom and I went over to Hobby Lobby (great store) and while we were gone we had the guys keep the kids. evidently they went over to a little neighborhood park and were there for all of 5 minutes before they all started complaining, "I'm thirsty, I'm gonna die of heat stroke, etc." The kids have been pretty good for the most part. Poor Maggie is homesick. We rarely spend a night away from home. She keeps asking when we are going to go home. here are some pictures of our trip so far:

Alexander hung out by the stairs until he was forced to "swim" a bit with a noodle. He progressed from the steps to swimming with someone with a noodle, to swimming just with a noddle, to swimming without a noodle (which freaked me out a bit, but he did great! Of course, as you can see, the life jacket is still intact)! He had a blast! We had to bribe the kids to get out of the pool! Great job, Alexander!

Uncle Matt got off work around 6p and grabbed the babies up right away. Ryleigh is on the left and Andrew is on the right. They are exactly 2 months apart!

Guess What?

My Corn's Up!

I have been looking forward to the stalks poking through the dirt since I planted the seeds. I've never grown corn before but always got it from my parent's prolific garden. It is so exciting when something you have planted actually comes up! I love overseeing the garden on a daily and sometimes multi-daily basis, seeing how everything is growing and what needs to be done. This is a fun time of the year!

Here is a cute picture of Alexander and Andrew I took Saturday night while Maggie was taking her infamous bubble and Apple Cider bath (they were watching- it must be pretty entertaining).
